03.19.04 - Do I ever cross your mind, anytime? Do you ever wake up reaching out for me...

A big "thanks!" goes out to Vin, Juliet and Nadia for helping me with my dilemmas, lol.

Where to start? This weekend has been such a total blast. Saturday, I woke up later than I wanted to. No wait, sorry, that was Sunday, lol. Anyway, it was Shaun's surprise birthday party at Frankie Tomato's, as many of you might know, since you were there! He was thoroughly surprised, and everything was good, even though he sort of suspected that his parents were planning something for him.

Later that day, it was Thanksgiving dinner at my house, and it was some good eatin'. I personally had about a pound of lamb, even though some people are disgusted by it because lambs are so damn cute. But when you're enjoying the scrumptious meat of an animal, you tend not to think about the circumstances in which it was slaughtered and deprived of a full life. Call me a heartless killer, but I love my meat! I also spent a lot of quality time with my cousins, which we don't nearly do enough of. Cranium is one of the best games ever. Never mind that my cousin Carrie and I lost all 2 rounds...even though we're supposedly the smartest people in the family.

But let's get to the exciting stuff: Angela, a head cashier at White Rose (where I work), celebrated matrimony yesterday...I hope that's grammatically correct...The church ceremony was just gorgeous. The weather was great, the sun was shining, there was a sizable amount of people. It was just so nice, lol.

I had sort of an outfit crisis, as in everyone kept telling me to wear my prom dress, which I totally did not want to wear because of restricted movement...so I ended up wearing a black skirt with white stripe-y things, and a black, weird, undescript top. It worked well come the end of the night, except that it didn't really breathe, and made me sort of itchy.

The reception looked like it was a real blast. If anything, the after-party, or whatever you might want to call it, was definitely a real blast, save for getting burned with wax from these candles we were holding during this traditional dancing thing. (At least, I think it was traditional)

It didn't realize how weird it was socializing with a manager until I got home. Danielle was quite a character at the wedding. Being open bar, she had about 9 vodkas with cranberry (I don't think that's the proper name of the drink, but whatever). Somewhere in the middle when they were on a reggae spin...or was it hip hop, I don't remember...and then some relative of Angela's started grinding with her, and I think this was the same guy who had previously grabbed her ass. He was definitely some kind of "playa". It was weird, watching your superior being so...loose, lol. I don't think I'd be able to "hang out" with her outside of our working-relationship circumstances, haha.

Nearing the end of the night, they started to play the same songs again. In the same order. Still, for some inexplicable reason, I was having a blast. Cris, Candice and Danielle wanted to leave. Danielle mostly because she felt as if she'd be molested by "weird relative of Angela's" (from hereon who shall be known as "WROA") if she didn't leave soon. We told her to go hide, haha. That probably wouldn't have been effective anyway. In any case, I wasn't ready to go...

Funny mini-story: WROA went off somewhere, I think to the bathroom. He comes back to find just me and Sarah sitting at the table. He sort of stops and makes a funny expression that likens itself to "Okay...." and he scopes out for Danielle, who's dancing with Mauro (her "date" for the night - another White Rose employee). WROA walks a little bit, stops again, and defeated (at least, I interpreted it to be "defeated") he goes off to find his jacket and leaves the banquet hall. But I guess he didn't go far, because he came back a while later and started dancing with her. We made a lot of eye contact while she was dancing with the guy, and all of those looks screamed out "Help!", but I, being the unsympathetic bitch that I am (no, really, lol) didn't do anything but laugh. Finally, a rescue plan was put into place and we started to leave, giving Danielle the leeway to break away from WRAO, to which she was grateful.

That wasn't really a funny story, but it was amusing. Maybe you just had to be there. In any case, I proposed to my friends that we should befriend someone who's going to get married every month, so that we'll have somewhere to go. I mean, not one person who's going to get married every month, but...eh, you all know what I mean.

To sum it all up, it was good times, good times...
